The 56th global ICANN meeting was held from June 27 to 30 at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, Finland.
The meeting was organized in the new ICANN meeting format, which focused more on debate and workshops rather than networking, so unlike ICANN in Dublin last year, there was no welcome ceremony and no exhibition space. ICANN 56 was attended by more than 1,500 delegates who came to Helsinki from all over the globe. Typically, ICANN attendees are representatives of domain registries, domain registrars, hosting providers, politicians and lawyers.
CM4all participated in ICANN 56 to meet existing and potential clients. For CM4all, the meeting was a great success. On the social event side, we especially liked the formal reception for ICANN attendees held by the Mayor of Helsinki and several government ministers in beautiful Helsinki City Hall.
The next ICANN event is scheduled to take place from November 3 to 9, 2016, in Hyderabad, India.
