CM4all Technical Talks (C4TT) was held for the eighth time on April 8, 2015, and provided a great opportunity to get an update on agile software development and testing. Almost 60 people from ten well-known companies in the field gathered at Content Management AG (CM4all) in Cologne to enjoy a day of free lectures and snacks.
This time, we invited two Agile Coaches from Paragraph Eins, Falk Kühnel and Alex Kylburg, who explained why test-driven development isn't as easy as everyone thinks and why mastering it takes lot of time. During the second session we discovered that building a team culture is a very important foundation for a better, more motivating workplace. Our guests emphasized that the purpose of testing in agile software development isn't finding problems or improving the product; it's an exercise in verification and auditing. We also learned how important automated testing and continuous integration are and how much they can improve quality of a product.
Each lecture ended with a lively discussion where everyone could ask questions and share their experience with the group.
All of the topics were so interesting that people stayed until late at night and continued the discussions until there was nothing else left... to eat ;)
See you at the next Technical Talks on June 2nd!
