CM4all Technical Talks

We are pleased to have been joined by our DevHouseFriday colleagues as co-organizers of our 6th C4TT held on September 5, 2014.

The information-packed evening was opened by Simon Olofsson (CM-AG) with his talk about Vagrant, Docker and Ansible. These three tools/technologies allow developers to easily create, configure and run virtual machines.

He was followed by Stefan Koch (CM-AG), who presented his QR-code scanner for smartphones. This scanner is based on pure HTML5 and Javascript and works without any server connection.

Stefan's presentation demonstrated how a browser app can easily access the device camera.

The third talk was given by Michael Bumann. He covered the world of Bitcoin applications.  On stage, Michael coded and demoed a simple wallet application based on the bitcoinj Java library.

The next speaker of the evening was Timo Derstappen (Giant Swarm GmbH). Timo introduced us to his company's product, Giant Swarm, a service that allows developers to quickly and easily deploy a micro services application without having to worry about scaling issues.

Marco Schaden finished the evening with his presentation of Rack - a Ruby web server interface. He showed us how he coded an MVC application from scratch.

We concluded the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks, drinks and lively discussions about the talks.

The next C4TT technical talk will be held on December 19, 2014.
