Organized by CM4all and DevHouseFriday, CM4all’s latest Technical Talk event focused on cloud computing from the administrator as well as from the developer point of view.
The first talk was held by me, Philipp Hocke (CM4all). I presented “OpenNebula,” a cloud management toolbox for creating and administrating cloud environments of any size. The presentation included a project history, the software’s features and an example of an infrastructure setup based on this software. Finally, I presented OpenNebula’s web interface and some features live, including live migration of VMs and contextualization for dynamic and automated setups of virtual guests, along with the one-click deployment feature with pre-configured images located on OpenNebula’s marketplace.
The second talk was held by Lars Wolff (Stormforger), who gave us a recap of this year’s “Software Circus,” a three-day conference that took place in Amsterdam from August 31 to September 2. The conference mainly focused on native cloud computing. He gave us an impression of the speakers, the talks and the overall atmosphere, along with a slideshow of pictures he took during these three days.
At the end of this event, CM4all invited all of the attendees to join us for a beer and more conversation at Biermeile in Cologne’s Mediapark.
