We were among the sponsors of the OX Summit 2015 that was held at the historic Café Moskau in Berlin, Germany, from October 8 to 9, 2015. This year’s motto “Be Open or Be History” was introduced with a great key note by OX CEO Rafael Laguna and discussed in depth in various other talks and sessions. That theme got extra attention with the recent judgment of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) that overturned the Safe Harbor Agreement. This was among the topics most frequently discussed by OX summit attendees.
As always, we demoed our latest product version with some widget additions. Alongside CM4all Sites, we showcased our new website importer that we first previewed at HostingCon in San Diego a couple of months ago. The version presented was improved and is making great progress towards its release. On Thursday afternoon, Oliver Gebert, our Director Sales EMEA, gave a short talk on the OX Soapbox stage in the middle of the exhibition hall highlighting the importance of a competitive and highly individualizable sitebuilder offering for telcos, ISPs and hosters.
The first day went quickly with lots of industry conversation and networking opportunities interspersed throughout the packed program. Live music by acoustic cover band Oh Alaska and the OX party at the famous Avenue Club, one of Berlin’s top clubs that opened its doors to OX Summit club delegates later that night, continued until the early morning hours. The evening was very entertaining and truly enjoyed by the international crowd.
The event was very well organized overall by the OX team and professionally executed with the right amount of attention to detail (you gotta love those coasters, T-shirts and posters!) With our Berlin office literally around the corner, we felt quite at home and received great support ourselves from our Berlin-based colleagues. Thanks again for all of that!
Good talks at both the Executive Dinner attended by our two founders and conversations with existing customers, partners and new prospects during the two-day summit made it a successful event. We are already looking forward to next year’s OX Summit, which will be held outside of Germany for the first time in its seven-year history in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
