Three days packed with presentations, meetings and sessions went by quickly. Held for the first time in South Beach, Florida, this year's HostingCon attracted some 1,100 visitors from all over the world. For some of our team, the flight from our US office in Boston was only a couple of hours down the coast, while the rest of us had a much longer trip from our Cologne, Germany, headquarters.
Just two months after our debut at WorldhostingDays, we presented the final release of CM4all Sites including our completely revamped editor engine, a multitude of responsive designs and plenty of reworked widgets showcased from existing customers’ installations. In addition to product news, we again found that our unique OEM customization options for consumer, business and vertical markets are of special interest to our international partners. As usual, we were too busy with presentations and meetings to make it to most of the sessions or panels. But the positive feedback on our products and valuable insights we gained for further improvements made the trip well worth it.
The beautiful South Florida weather and lots of events scheduled around the show were enjoyed by participants and exhibitors alike, and the occasional showers in the evening helped cool things down a bit. There was plenty of time for networking and mingling with the international hosting industry crowd. A variety of sponsored events in the evenings allowed people to connect and continue talking in a social atmosphere.
Although a 10th anniversary party was held on Monday night, it was unfortunate that iNet Interactive cut the closing reception that had been such a fundamental part of the conference in previous years. So, HostingCon this year ended without a real farewell event which, in our opinion, cut short some valuable and expected networking time.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to meet with us and view a demo of our latest release at the booth, attend a private meeting or just exchange ideas over a drink or two. In the coming weeks, we will be busy following up on the new opportunities that opened up during the show and the results of our meetings with existing and new partners.
