The Award-Winning CM4all 7-Steps-Wizard – Consumer Enhanced!

Step 1: Topic
The user is presented with a set of consumer-specific icons which depict the most popular purposes for a consumer website. Examples include, Family & Kids, Wedding, Party, Sports & Hobbies and Job Application. There is also a Neutral icon which opens up more design and page layout possibilities as it is not geared to any specific consumer topic.
Step 2: Design
The designs that are suitable for the selected topic are displayed. The user can select a homepage design simply by clicking a button. A different color scheme and an alternative main graphic can also be selected to individualize the website even more. For detailed tailoring of the template selection, users can invoke and set a Filter which finds a list of designs which include: (1) image or logo upload; (2) multiple main graphics; (3) Flash elements and (4) templates matching the chosen topic exactly. Users can tick any or all of the 4 fields to rapidly find exactly what they want.
Step 3: Customize Design
In this step, the design is refined further. Typefaces, colors, buttons and other details can be determined in accordance with the selected design. CM4all screen designers working with professional graphics design agencies have taken great care to ensure that everything "matches". Users can only select typefaces and colors which are suitable for their design! Here a main name for the website is entered and where applicable, the user can upload a photograph to the design. Refinements carried out at this stage are transformed directly into a fast graphic suitable for the template by the high-performance CM4all rendering engine.
Step 4: Manage Pages
At this stage, the user is presented with the predictive suggestion for the navigation of his site based on the topic selection made in the first step. The structure can be adopted with a click or of course, the user can make his own structure simply by selecting the pages he wants. For maximum flexibility, in both cases pages can be renamed, inserted, deleted and moved. Further enhancements in this release include icons at the side of pages to visually represent the extras configured for that page – e.g. a small house indicates “Home” and the home page itself can even be changed. The navigation can consist of two levels, the main level and sub-navigation level. "Linking" of all pages and the creation of the buttons is performed automatically.
Step 5: Edit Content
In this step, the actual contents are entered and each page can be filled with individual texts and images. Users will be accustomed to the user functions as they are oriented along the lines of familiar office applications such as MS Word™. The only difference is that processing is performed in the browser itself - all contents are entered in the place where they will soon be displayed to the world on the Internet.
The difference between a “homepage construction kit” and a professionally-designed content management system now becomes clear. The CM4all WebsiteCreator allows the customer to access this step at any time and change texts and images directly in the browser without a problem. Of course, the customer can also continue to access all the other steps once the initial website creation has been completed, e.g. in order to adapt the navigation structure or design, as often as needed and without incurring extra expense.
Step 6: Settings
In this step, the user completes the website. Meta-tags can be entered to ensure that the site will be found by search engines. The Web 2.0 features such as the photo, video, music and podcasting Community Media Album; video-enhanced Blog and Event Planner are configured here along with regular features like Flash Intro, Newsticker, Map, Forms and Guestbook etc. A Buddy List link provides quick guest management with simple fields for the names and email address of the Buddy. The Access option allows definition of a global password for browser login and two fields for the user’s nickname and email address that will be used to populate the invitational emails sent to Buddies.
Step 7: Publish
The final step is the publication of the website. By clicking the "Publish" button, the data is uploaded directly to the user's webspace. Steps 1 to 7 can be covered as often as necessary, which means that all content can be changed, enlarged and corrected online at any time for complete convenience.
