An integral part of CM4all Sites is CM-AG's new widget technology which allows for convenient drag & drop, configuration, and arrangement of all website elements. Widgets are standalone website functions and design elements that end users can integrate into their websites. This way everybody is able to add complex functions without difficulty.

For instance, users willing to offer their visitors a map and driving directions to their location simply drag the corresponding widget into the website and configure it by entering their address. When intended to be moved to another page or to be finished later, widgets can be stored in the clipboard. Thus all configurations are maintained and users can reinsert the element at a later point in time. Additionally, some widgets include a teaser function which is intended to draw attention to its content and to guide visitors to the actual widget location.

CM4all Sites comes with built-in widgets ranging from contact forms to weather forecast to social media connectivity with Twitter® and Facebook®. With customers in mind, we designed CM4all Sites with an open widget API that allows for continuous development of additional widgets not only by us, but also by OEM partners and external software engineers. In order to serve vertical markets, the widget API also enables the incorporation of external business applications such as OpenTable®.
